We often wonder: What would St. John Bosco for children and young people of today and often feel lonely and abandoned, what would you tell them, what advice would you give to them and also to adults who follow them and they accompany?
Looking back at the life of this great saint, to what he has done for young men and boys who met them I would call first to believe in their abilities, to have self-confidence and self-care and soul. He teaches us that every boy can dream big, capable of great things is important, however, is that adults can meet and educators who support him in life and daily choices, giving him confidence and help him to hope and believe the people around him. Don Bosco has lived in a very different time, but at the same time, very similar to that in which we live today. Surely, in those years, there were economic opportunities and conveniences that today there are some great and important discoveries and inventions had to be done, very strong, in addition to material poverty, it was the moral poverty and fragility in which people lived and, consequently, children and young people were not exempt. You often find yourself having to live on the streets, abandoned by his family, without reference points and values \u200b\u200bto believe and on which to base its existence. But Don Bosco, unlike what he did most of the adults, loved every guy looking for the "personal property" of each. He never asked anyone to be a different person from what was even asked, to everyone he met, the commitment to make a personal journey. Could speak to every heart in a personal way, because by doing so what occupied the minds of children, reveals the significance of the events of their lives, made them understand the value of the behavior and feelings, touching the depths of consciousness. And so a young man was working, gave support to another study, others gave to sleep and food, another preparing to meet Jesus in the First Communion and grow in a faith journey. There is a phrase that Don Bosco always said to his youth: "I would like to see you happy in time and eternity." Here, then, that Don Bosco is still repeated to children and young people: people want you to be happy and fulfilled, happy of what you are because everyone is unique and unrepeatable because they loved and wanted to first of all from God
But because every boy and every young person can become a fully realized it is necessary for meetings, in his way, adults and educators who love and respect for what that is, that respects its original without trying to make all the same, mature adults are aware that every child is a gift and work of God is a community that has as its priority over that of the young may find in a Don Bosco ' excellent guide. Sometimes talking to some adults, even in our Christian communities, it is easy to find people who have a negative view of Boys and easily judge them and criticize them. The task of an educator is to find the chord and make it vibrate, "able to look at them in a positive and proactive. It 'must, therefore, that there are adults willing to talk and share with each other to be able to develop sound proposals that make it possible for children to express themselves without fear of being labeled or judged. We need adults who are willing to spend time being with the boys because, Don Bosco as advised, to be among them is one of the most effective ways to get to know and be known by them. Don Bosco, with his staff, and reiterated constantly stressed the importance of being among the youngsters to be able to find "the right word at the right time" for any boy whom he called "the little word to the ear." E 'need to regain trust the adult world and hope in children and young people but it's just knowing them, talking to them that this can happen. The pedagogy and educational style of Don Bosco's Preventive System are summarized as pillars that reason, religion and loving kindness invites us to look to the young in its entirety without forgetting any size person, with sympathy and optimism and an attitude of respect and understanding.
